Hello there! I’m Nate Bailey.
My pots are individual pieces that sometimes come in sets. My goal is always to imbue these works with thoughtful choices that blend beauty with practicality, and sometimes a little whimsy. I draw inspiration from nature, history, and the vast diversity of pottery I’ve been able to see and learn about over the years living and working around the world.
I first began working with clay as a college student in the Shenandoah Valley. Years later, I returned to community pottery by way of District Clay Center in Washington, D.C. During this period of time, I taught my first classes, participated in my first sale, and my work was featured in a juried show. Today, I make pots in Maine both as a student at Portland Pottery and in my home studio.
I love working with people to make something they have always wanted to see in clay. If you have an idea or want to discuss a project, send me a message! If you click on something you like and it says ‘SOLD’ but you’d like to commission something similar, send me a message and we can discuss your vision.
